Three Members of Congress Co-sponsor Premium Cigar Exemption

19 Sep Three Members of Congress Co-sponsor Premium Cigar Exemption

Early last week, three additional members of Congress cosponsored H.R. 564, the Traditional Cigar Manufacturing and Small Business Jobs Preservation Act of 2017. IPCPR applauds Congresswoman Debbie Lesko (AZ-8), Congressman Andy Biggs (AZ-5) and Congressman Warren Davidson (OH-8) for their support of small business and sensible governance and opposition to FDA’s one size fits all regulations. The bill, which acutely defines premium cigars and exempts them from onerous FDA regulations, currently has 147 cosponsors. We are grateful for strong supporters on Capitol Hill and we thank Congresswoman Lesko and Congressmen Biggs and Davidson on behalf of our Arizona and Ohio tobacconists and the entire premium cigar industry.

For questions regarding H.R. 564 or cosponsors please contact Daniel Trope, IPCPR Senior Director of Federal Government Affairs, at daniel@ipcpr.org.
