11 Jun Oregon: Urge the House Committee on Revenue to Save the Cigar Tax Cap
The Chairman of the House Committee on Revenue is considering the elimination of Oregon’s $.50 cigar tax cap to raise revenue. If this were to happen, all cigars would be taxed at 65% of the wholesale price. This increased tax burden would be devastating to retail tobacconists across the state. It is critical that we kill this proposal before it leaves Committee.
