Oregon: Act Now to Save the Tax Cap

12 Feb Oregon: Act Now to Save the Tax Cap

House Bills 2158 and 2270 would remove the $.50 tax cap on cigars. The removal of the tax cap would result in cigars being taxed at 65 percent of the manufactures list price. A tax increase would burden small business retail tobacconists across Oregon, making them unable to compete with online sellers.
