Nevada: Urge the Assembly to Vote NO on S.B. 81

14 May Nevada: Urge the Assembly to Vote NO on S.B. 81

Nevada Senate Bill 81 proposes changing when the 30 percent excise tax is paid on cigars and pipe tobacco. Currently, the tax is collected at the point of sale and then paid to the State. S.B. 81 imposes a floor tax, requiring you to pay the 30 percent excise tax when product is received at your place of business.Additionally, this legislation clarifies that the excise tax is applied on top of shipping costs and the federal excise tax (FET).

S.B. 81 places an unfair burden on your business operation. CLICK HERE to contact the Assembly and ask for their NO vote on this misguided legislation.
