Georgia: House Bill 726 Awaits Governor’s Signature

28 Mar Georgia: House Bill 726 Awaits Governor’s Signature

During the 2015 – 2016 regular session, several IPCPR members in Georgia collaborated to pass House Bill 726. This legislation clarifies that that any federal tax or shipping charges stated separately on the sales invoice for any given tobacco product is exempt from the state tax on tobacco products. HB 726 passed in the House and Senate, and was sent to Governor Nathan Deal for his signature. Governor Deal has until May 3, 2016, to act or the bill will automatically become law. Thank you to all IPCPR members who facilitated the passage of this important legislation.
