25 Jan Colorado: Your Help is Needed to Protect Tobacconists from Government Overreach
Contact the Colorado House Health and Insurance Committee today in opposition to the local regulation and taxation of tobacco products by HB19-1033. This legislation would allow local governments to adopt regulations and taxes on tobacco businesses in addition to receiving state tobacco tax funds. Currently a local government forgoes state tobacco tax funds if it adopts local taxes. HB19-1033 removes this prohibition, providing an incentive for local governments to enact new taxes. This legislation will be heard on Wednesday, January 30th at 1:30pm in room 0107 located in the capitol basement. You are encouraged to attend the hearing to testify against HB19-1033. If you are able to attend or if you would like to submit written testimony, please contact your IPCPR representative Tyler Henson at firstname.lastname@example.org or 720-232-7923.
