The important hearing on House Bill 19-1033 has been moved to February 1st at 1:30 p.m. Please contact the Colorado House Health and Insurance Committee immediately in opposition to the local regulation and taxation of tobacco products by H.B. 19-1033. You are encouraged to attend the rescheduled hearing to testify against H.B. 19-1033. The hearing will take place in the Capitol, but a room number has not been decided. If you are able to attend, please contact your IPCPR representative Tyler Henson at firstname.lastname@example.org or 720-232-7923 for directions.
House Bill 19-1033 would allow local governments to adopt regulations and taxes on tobacco businesses in addition to receiving state tobacco tax funds. Currently a local government forgoes state tobacco tax funds if it adopts local taxes. HB19-1033 removes this prohibition, providing an incentive for local governments to enact new taxes.
